Espoon kaupunkirata -hankkeen suunnittelu ja rakentaminen toteutetaan tietomallipohjaisena. Infrakit-järjestelmän avulla varmistetaan tietomallipohjaisessa toteutuksessa piiloon jäävien rakenteiden laadunvarmistus. Hankinta sisältää Infrakit-järjestelmän lisenssit hankkeen kaikille toimijoille sekä järjestelmään liittyvän asiantuntijapalvelun koko Espoon kaupunkirata -hankkeen ajalle.

Suorahankinnan perusteluna on erityisalojen hankintalain 43 §:n kohta 2): teknisestä tai yksinoikeuden suojaamiseen liittyvästä syystä vain tietty toimittaja voi toteuttaa hankinnan; lisäedellytyksenä on, että järkeviä vaihtoehtoisia tai korvaavia ratkaisuja ei ole eikä kilpailun puuttuminen johdu hankinnan ehtojen keinotekoisesta kaventamisesta. Hankinnan kohteena on inframallipohjaisen toteutuksen laadunvarmistus -palvelu, jota ei muilla markkinoilla olevilla ohjelmistoilla pystytä toteuttamaan piiloon jäävien rakenteiden osalta.
