The Irish Defence Forces require Collective Protection (COLPRO) systems to provide a contaminant free environment for personnel following or in the event of a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Chemical and Radiological) incident. Such a system shall be designed to resist the penetration of any particle into the internal floor space of the COLPRO system which may endanger personnel operating in the system. The COLPRO system will be required to protect against these contaminants through the use of filtration and/or overpressure systems as a minimum. The proposed solution shall adhere to the following design characteristics: 1.) Capable of protecting troops from a number of threats a.) Chemical agents (Persistent and non-persistent) b.) Biological agents (Aerosolized) c.) Nuclear and Radiological d.) Toxic Industrial Hazards 2.) Creation of Toxic Free Environment: a.) Contamination Control Area (CCA) b.) Materials, Seals and Connections c.) Air Filtration Units d.) Protective Entrance
