Explanation:

Für die Durchführung des Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy-Verfahrens (PIPAC ist ein palliatives Verfahren zur Behandlung einer Peritonealkarzinose) im Zentral-OP des Hanusch-Krankenhaus der ÖGK soll ein Hochdruck-Doppelkolben-Injektor Accutron Thera (Hersteller Medtron) angekauft werden. Nur der Accutron Thera inkl. seiner zugelassenen Verbrauchsmaterialien kann beschafft werden, da dieser zur Zeit als der einzige Injektor über Zulassung für das innovative PIPAC Verfahren verfügt.

Das PIPAC Verfahren ermöglicht, Medikamente in Körperhöhlen des Patienten (wie z.B. im Bauchraum oder im Brustkorb) äußerst wirksam zu applizieren. Durch die lokale Applikation unmittelbar am Tumorort und die weitgehende Beherrschung der bisherigen pharmakologischen Limitationen der intraperitonealen Chemotherapie (ineffiziente Verteilung innerhalb der Körperhöhle, fehlerhafte Diffusion ins Gewebe) kann die notwendige Dosis der toxischen Medikamente um einen Faktor 10 reduziert werden, ohne dass der Effekt der Wirksamkeit am Tumor reduziert wird. Der wesentliche Vorteil der PIPAC ist die Kontrolle der dosisabhängigen Toxizität der intraperitonealen Chemotherapie, der Organtoxizität sowie die deutliche Reduktion der systemischen Nebenwirkungen der Therapie. Die PIPAC wird bei den meisten Peritonealkarzinosepatienten appliziert, und zwar ohne großes operatives Trauma, und auch bei vorbestehenden Organdysfunktionen (Niereninsuffizienz, Polyneuropathie, usw.).
