         Uppdraget omfattar förvaltning av ungefär 2400 hektar produktiv skogsmark, fördelad på två brukningsnivåer, tätortsnära skog och produktionsskog. Den tätortsnära skogen uppgår till ungefär 700 ha och är till stor del utnyttjad av det rörliga friluftslivet med elljusspår, rid- och promenadstigar och andra anläggningar, vilket kräver särskild hänsyn och skötsel.

         Uppdraget omfattar även naturvårdsinriktade skötselåtgärder såsom röjning, gallring, plockhuggning, friställning av träd samt bevarande av områden och enskilda träd inom kommunens skogar. En stor del av arbetet inom den bebyggelsenära marken kommer att ske med manuellt arbete.
