         Trondheim Urban Operations would like to replace all of its fossil fuel machinery with fossil free solutions. Part of this green change is to replace the existing fleet of diesel-run sludge extractors and combined vehicles (combined sludge extractors and high pressure washers) with new gas-run machines. Trondheim Municipality needs sludge extractors for, amongst other things, emptying and operating septic tanks, sand traps, drains, pump stations, and sewage pipelines in the municipal network. The plan is to procure a total of 7-10 sludge extractors and combined vehicles over a total period of 4 years.

         On 8 July 2023 Urban Operations published an open tender contest in which tenderers could compete for a framework agreement for the delivery of gas-run sludge extractors and combination vehicles for Trondheim Urban Operations for a 4-year period. The contract was meant to cover the replacement of the existing machinery of sludge extractors and combined vehicles, as well as service for both the body and chassis.

         Trondheim Municipality, c/o the Road Department and Water and Sewage Department at Trondheim Urban Operations, is planning to replace its fleet of sludge extractors with new biogas-run sludge extractors and combination vehicles. The framework agreement covers the estimated procurement of 7-10 vehicles during the contract period.

         Trondheim Urban Operations has the following work assignments within the fields of:

         - Sanitation and sewage network

         - Emptying of sand traps from overflow stations in the water and sewage network

         - Emptying of street sand traps and flushing of secondary drains/auxiliary drains

         - Cleaning of sewage manholes and water manholes

         - Emptying of private sewage systems (sludge separators and closed tanks)

         TB currently has the following machinery, which is planned to be replaced under the framework agreement.

         - 2 combi-vehicles (tridem)

         - 2 septic vehicles (tridem)

         - 1 street sand trap vehicle (tridem)

         - 2 allround sludge extractors (3-axle)
