        In connection with the transition to remote-read water meters, Trondheim municipality would like to enter into an agreement with a plumbing company for the replacement of the approx. 62,000 water meters currently installed in the municipality, which are planned to be installed by the end of 2028.

        In order to allow smaller stakeholders to participate in the contest, and to disperse the municipality"s risk of the replacement process coming to a halt, thre procurement is planned to include up to 3 lots. Tenderers can choose to submit tenders for one or several lots. Lots 1 and 2 will contain approx. 37,000 and 25,000 water meter replacements, respectively, wherein the meters have a dimension of less than 2". Lot 3 will contain approx. 100 annual water meter changes where the meter has a dimension equal to or greater than 2".

        Water meter replacement in Trondheim East. Replacement of water meters in Trondheim municipality, east of Nidelven. The estimated number of water meters to be replaced is 37,000. This means that tenderers starting in July 2023 must calculate approx. 560 water meter replacements per month. The distribution by dimension is approximately as in the table in Annex 3, Meter overview, but some reduction in the number of ½" meters must be expected.

        Each individual job is assigned to the plumbing company responsible for the zone in which the job is located in the Entreprenordialog.no system. The company uses Entreprenordialog.no for contracts with the homeowner about the time the job will be completed, as well as for any deviation reports to the municipality and documentation to the municipality on the work performed.

        For lots 1 and 2, a unit price per meter change is proposed.

        Replacement of larger water meters. Lot 3 will contain approx. 100 annual water meter changes where the meter has a dimension equal to or greater than 2". The replacement of commercial meters will not be split up by zones, but will take place across the entire municipality. Each individual job is awarded to the plumbing company through dialogue between the municipality, the homeowner and the plumbing company. The replacement of larger water meters will be carried out as separate jobs, where the water meters must be ordered based on the conditions at the individual location, and the work will be planned based on the operational situation, etc.
