         Gemeente Helmond wil dat het wenkend perspectief van “zelfrijdende (OV-)vervoer in Helmond” zo snel mogelijk realistisch wordt. Door met een fieldlab te beginnen op het BZOB terrein wil Helmond tempo maken met de innovatie. Belangrijk hierbij is dat het field lab werkt als een katalysator voor innovatie – een brede set aan partners zal ook nodig zijn om de innovatie in partnerschap vorm te geven. Tweede doelstelling is dat de in te kopen vervoersdienst tegelijkertijd maatschappelijk waarde biedt aan een OV-arm gebied. Gemeente Helmond is op zoek naar een partij, die – voor drie jaar, met twee verlengingsopties van ieder twee jaar –geautomatiseerd openbaar vervoer realiseert.
