In het areaal van Oost-Nederland zijn thans twee prestatiecontracten in uitvoering. Prestatiecontract IJssel en Twentekanalen (PC IJTK) en Prestatiecontract Rijntakken (PC Rijntakken). Met de onderhavige inkoop wordt de opvolging van deze contracten ten aanzien van specifieke werkzaamheden beoogd voor de jaren 2021 tot en met 2026, met een optie tot verlenging van drie jaren.
