         In het huidige gebouw was basisschool De Krullevaar gevestigd, samen met de kinderopvang (Blos) en de buitenschoolse opvang (Kind&Co). Een deel van het gebouw staat momenteel leeg. In het vernieuwde ontwerp worden basisschool De Trompetvogel, Blos en Kind&Co gehuisvest.

         Basisschool De Trompetvogel bevindt zich momenteel in een complex aan Parelduiker 15. Het is de ambitie van de gemeente om de PO-school onder één dak samen te brengen met de kinderopvang en voorschoolse- en buitenschoolse opvang als één kindcentrum (KC).

         Basisschool De Krullevaar maakt geen onderdeel meer uit van het kindcentrum i.v.m. het opheffen van de school. Voor een deel van het gebouw gaat de gemeente opzoek naar een externe huurder. Dit kan mogelijk nog consequenties hebben voor het ontwerp.
