         l"Étude de programmation à réaliser est une étape indispensable pour la conception du projet. Cette étude doit être réalisée par une équipe de professionnels de la programmation architecturale, technique et muséographique. Elle doit viser à : - aider la maitrise d"ouvrage à définir, à préciser sa commande par un travail itératif à l"issue duquel elle dispose des informations les plus précises qui soient pour lancer la conception du projet de musée ; - fournir, aux maitres d"oeuvre sélectionnés pour concevoir le projet architectural et muséographique, un document de référence à caractère contractuel décrivant de manière précise la commande du maitre d"ouvrage (objectifs à atteindre, modalités de fonctionnement du musée, organisation des collections, espaces et surfaces à aménager, contraintes techniques et réglementaires à prendre en compte, performances à mettre en oeuvre, budget à respecter, ...) ; - maitriser la commande du maître d"ouvrage tout au long des études de maitrise d"oeuvre
