         This assignment will support the establishment of an efficient organisational and governance structure of the Vasilikos Energy Centre (VEC) to ensure its safe operation and address security of supply. The outcome of the assignment will ensure a clearer governance structure at VEC for several existing infrastructure projects with EIB and EC financing, while also supporting future energy transition investments in Cyprus. In this regard, the link with potential InvestEU operations, in particular the EuroAsia Interconnector (partially CEF funded), which will be landing within this centre is a relevant example. Given the importance of the Vasilikos Energy Centre to the Republic of Cyprus, the Council of Ministers will be involved to approve the proposed governance structure and agree the relevant follow up actions.
