Five Multi–Party Frameworks for the Provision of Specialist Natural History Conservation Services to the National Museum of Ireland
In the coming years, the primary focus of this framework will be to facilitate the de-installation of NMI collections within Lots 1-5; and to help prepare them for transfer, quarantine and offsite storage (Decant phase). Following this the focus will be to stabilise, conserve and prepare collections for display (Conservation Phase) and finally to assist with the reinstallation of the collections in the newly refurbished NH museum (Reinstall Phase). The initial contracts awarded will be to assist with preparation for the planned refurbishment and conservation works at NMI – National History Merrion Street, relating specifically to: • specialist conservation work required to de-install, clean, stabilise and otherwise prepare natural history objects for safe transport by the NMI project team and object handlers and transport providers appointed by the NMI under a separate procurement competition. The competitive process will be carried out on the basis on the following lots: • Lot 1: Complex and/or large natural history mount deinstallation, conservation and reinstallation • Lot 2: Standard natural history mount conservation • Lot 3: Dry invertebrate specimen conservation • Lot 4: Fluid specimen conservation • Lot 5: Blaschka model conservation Please note tenders must associate themselves with this competition in order to access tender documents, ask and receive queries and submit a tender response.
