         Das Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik und Bioökonomie plant, die Datenverbindungen innerhalb des ATB-Netzes sowie die Verbindung nach außen durch den Einsatz von redundanten Firewalls sicherer und zuverlässiger zu gestalten. Dabei soll bereits auf Netzwerk-Ebene gewährleistet werden, dass nur berechtigte Personen und Geräte mit den dafür vorgesehenen Applikationen auf Ressourcen zugreifen können. Die Systeme sollen zudem in der Lage sein, netzwerkbasierte Angriffe zu erkennen und zu unterdrücken. Das Firewall-Paar für die Verbindung nach außen nennen wir im Folgenden DMZ-Firewalls, das Paar für die netzinterne Sicherheit wird als Segmentierungs-Firewalls betitelt. Es kommen ausschließlich physische Firewalls infrage. Bisher kommt im ATB eine DMZ-Firewall Palo Alto PA 850 zum Einsatz. Deren komplex konfigurierte Funktionen sollen vollständig in das neue DMZ-System übernommen werden. Die Firewalls sollen sich gemeinsam verwalten lassen und dabei auch auf die Protokolle der Palo Alto Cortex XDR-Agenten unseres Endpoint-Schutzsystems zugreifen.

         Es ist geplant, das Firewall-System im 4. Quartal 2023 für 5 Jahre in Betrieb zu nehmen.
