         Am 01.07.2018 hat das Welterbekomitee die Aufnahme des Naumburger Doms in das UNESCO-Welterbe beschlossen.

         Infolge haben die Vereinigten Domstifter entsprechend der touristischen Ziele, im Einvernehmen mit allen Beteiligten, beschlossen, ein Welterbeempfangs- und Informationszentrum in Domplatz 1 zu etablieren. Dafür soll der gesamte Gebäudekomplex mit hofseitiger Gartenanlage umfassend saniert und ausgebaut werden. Dies beinhaltet u.a. umfangreiche statische Ertüchtigungen, Umgestaltung der Innenräume für Informationsangebote und Ausstellungen, Dachneueindeckung und Fassadensanierung.

         Der Zwischenbau Domkirchner wird, unter Erhalt der Westfassade, komplett neu errichtet und an der östlichen Hofseite soll ein Lapidarium installiert werden.

         Bei der Bischofskurie Domplatz 1 handelt es sich um hochwertige Denkmalsubstanz in der Kernzone des Welterbes.
