Hankinnan kohteena oli huumausainetutkimukset HUS Diagnostiikkakeskukselle sekä ISLAB Hyvinvointiyhtymälle (jäljempänä Hankintayksiköt). Hankintayksiköt hankkivat sellaisia huumausaineanalytiikan tutkimuksia, joiden toteuttaminen itse omissa laboratorioissa ei ole taloudellisista tai teknisistä syistä kannattavaa tai mahdollista.

Hankinta oli jaettu osa-alueisiin.

Hankinnan kohteen kriteerit oli kuvattu tarkemmin tarjouspyynnöllä ja sen liiteasiakirjoilla.
