Description

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) is requesting Proposals from qualified contractors for the fabrication of five thousand cubic metres (5000 m3) of soil for the Armstrong/Spallumcheen Landfill Phase 2 Closure. A fifteen-centimeter (15 cm) layer of fabricated soil will be placed on top of a clay cap and is intended to provide suitable growing conditions for a native seed mix including grasses and legumes. Hauling and placement of the fabricated soil will be done by others.

The fabricated soil will be a blend of RDNO yard and garden waste compost (RDNO-Gro), biosolids compost from the City of Kelowna/City of Vernon Regional Compost Facility (OgoGrow) and coarse sand. The preferred location for the work is the compost pad at the Greater Vernon Landfill. The RDNO may consider alternate locations for the work as proposed by the Contractor.
