The Capital Regional District (CRD), hereinafter referred to as the "CRD”, invites Proposals for the development of a 3D hydrodynamic model of Sooke Lake Reservoir.
The Capital Regional District (CRD) would like to develop a 3D hydrodynamic model for its primary drinking water source Sooke Lake Reservoir. Sooke Lake Reservoir is a man-made lake with a
total volume of 160 million m3, 8.3 km in length, max. 1.6 km wide, with a maximum depth of 75 m when full. The water level is regulated by Sooke Lake Dam and the Intake Tower located at the
south end of the lake. A catchment of approximately 10,000 ha drains into Sooke Lake Reservoir. A number of small tributary creeks discharging mainly into the north basin of the lake provide
most of the inflow during the wet fall and winter months. Typically, from May to October water levels in Sooke Lake Reservoir drop continuously due to the regional drinking water demand.
The CRD seeks consulting services to develop a 3D hydrodynamic model of its primary drinking water source Sooke Lake Reservoir. The computer model will be developed based on the findings in the
2020 Tetra Tech report “Sooke Lake Reservoir – Hydrodynamic Modelling Project
Requirements”.
