Description

The Remote Airports Office is seeking a digital solution to support remote airports safety mandate. The current SMS functional requirements include daily inspections, the investigation of incidents and repeat hazards, the tracking of action plans to prevent future incidents, internal/external audits of airport operations, and training for management of staff. In addition, the software is required to support and equip the staff to accurately, effectively and efficiently report, track, monitor, sort and manipulate data, while complying with federal legislation/regulations such as Canadian Aviation Regulations. As part of daily airport operations, airport staff are required to conduct regular inspections of airport runways and associated assets, taking note of deficiencies to standard, develop action items, and provide frequent runway surface condition reports through NAV Canada Notice to Airmen Entry System linked with Application Programming Interface and E-Fax. The compliance functions the Safety Management System include wildlife monitoring and risk analysis; measuring performance goals; establishing and maintaining a safety data system and monitoring and evaluating results of corrective actions. In addition, RAO is required to conduct electronic reporting, tracking, and filing of operational administration documentation using Ministry iPads.
