Description

The City of White Rock is seeking professional engineering consulting services and project management services to assist the City to convert existing HPS street lights fixtures with light-emitting diodes (LEDs). By replacing these with energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to ensure compliance with new federal regulations that require all light ballasts containing Poly-Chlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) be removed by the end of 2025.

City’s street lights are switching to LEDs for much the same reason that people choose LEDs for their homes: they use far less energy, are more reliable, last longer, and are more sustainable. LEDs are 50% more efficient than the previous light bulbs, last up to three times longer, and do not contain toxic chemicals, which altogether contribute to a reduced carbon footprint.

The City is seeking a consultant to provide engineering and project management consultation services for 24 month period with a project completion date by December 31, 2025. The proposed project is scheduled to be implemented in phases over a 2-year period, starting in 2024 to 2025.
