BCTS BC Bid Solicitation Standard
All blocks are located in Prince George Forest District north of Summit lake.
• SU-RG-PLOT = 29.6 hectares
• SU-SU-PLOT = 638.6 hectares
• SU-FG-PLOT = 1417 hectares
Survey data is to be collected using a software program that has the functionality to export data into The Land Resource Management Program (LRM), formerly known as Cengea. Additional
information regarding the software program can be found in Schedule C. Walkthrough surveys (Visual Assessments) have no requirement of plots, but collected walk-through data is to be exported
into LRM. An example of data collection requirements for survey walkthroughs is shown in the BCTS Walkthrough Form as found in Appendices.
Required plot intensity can be found in Schedule C.
Specific directions to blocks can be found on the detailed location maps, the current status maps and general comments are in Schedule B1. These notes are for guidance only and should not be
relied upon exclusively. The Ministry is not responsible for any out of date or incorrect information with regards to the access notes. Helicopter may be required to access some of the
openings. The requirement for Helicopter use will be at the discretion of the Ministry Representative and helicopter costs will be covered by the Ministry.
Layout and GPS data collection will be required for any not sufficiently restocked (NSR) strata identified, as well as completion of the BCTS Post Harvest Assessment (PHA) form (example
provided in Appendices).
Any strata prescribed for a brushing treatment will require completion of a treatment map and the BCTS Detailed Site Assessment (DSA) form (example provided in Appendices).
All surveys and forms are required to be signed and sealed/stamped by a qualified Registered Forest Professional with the Association of B.C Forest Professionals (RPF or RFT).
Each opening surveyed requires a crew leader (see Schedule A of the contract for definition) to be on site and an accredited silviculture surveyor. The accredited surveyor and crew leader can
be the same individual.
Contractor self-inspections are required for quality assurance. See more details regarding survey standards and guidelines are as per the Schedule A and C of the contract.
