Agreement for the execution of various topographical tasks

Description: 5-year agreement for the execution of various topographical tasks involving the Fluxys" pipeline network. Fluxys constructs, manages and operates an infrastructure for high-pressure gas transmission by pipeline in Belgium. Actually, this network is about 4 200 km long. The technical and administrative data for this network are given in a database which is used by various departments in the company. This database — which is spatial — plays a key role in the operation of the pipeline network. This means that a lot of importance is attached to the accuracy of the data. The 3-dimensional aspect of the database is mainly the result of topographical surveys. Fluxys mainly uses external surveyors to conduct these surveys. The tasks involving new and/or existing Fluxys" pipelines and substations may include: (a) terrestrial site survey and mapping of new and/or changed topography; (b) terrestrial site survey and mapping of new and/or changed topography vis-à-vis the existing topography; (c) terrestrial site survey and mapping of a new site profile; (d) terrestrial pipeline survey + accessories and mapping of a new pipeline profile; (e) digital output — supplying files in all of the following formats: Microsoft Excel format, Microstation DGN format and the Fluxys" exchange format XSUF. As well as to take note of a ETL-application (Extract,Transform en Load) such as FME (Feature Manipulation Engine); (f) the use of other surveying techniques alongside topographical surveying, e.g. active radio detection and ground tracing; (g) tasks involving the preparation for site levelling; (h) the tasks involving the purchase and sale of Fluxys sites include the preparation of survey and/or demarcation reports.
