Explanation:

UZ Leuven overweegt bij Brainlab een nieuw toestel “Curve 2.0 navigation system” voor navigatie aan te kopen voor “spine orthopedie”.

Het navigatietoestel in kwestie heeft als enige op de markt navigatiesoftware die volledig open is naar alle implantanten toe (zowel voor schroeven als navigatie van interbody cages) en biedt aldus een oplossing met een universele automatische beeldregistratie waarmee àlle CT en CBCT toestellen binnen UZ Leuven kunnen worden gekoppeld, hetgeen voor UZ Leuven een substantiele operationele meerwaarde en ook kostenbesparend is naar de toekomst toe. Bovendien kan dit toestel op een relatief haalbare manier worden uitgebreid naar een robotsysteem. Het toestel beschikt tevens over een ‘Curve’ die uitbreiding toelaat naar andere toepassingen waaronder craniele neurochirurgie, NKO, EM én MKA.

Tenslotte heeft het toestel als enige op de markt een server-based planning systeem.
