NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT AND AWARD FROM A SINGLE SOURCE

The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source award to EATON Corporation Electrical Services & Systems, 12625 Wetmore Rd. STE 122, San Antonio, TX 78247 to perform maintenance and testing on the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) supporting a backup generator at a Kelly Annex Building on Joint Base San Antonio. The ATS requires a thorough cleaning, the replacement of the Aux switches for Source 1 and Source 2 Breakers plus a diagnostic test of the ATS once completed. The diagnostic test requires access to the ATS programming using proprietary software owned by EATON. The diagnostic test is required to ensure the mechanical and electrical components of ATS are fully operational and meet the standards set by EATON.

The purpose of this action is to provide notice of intent for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, EATON Corporation, under the authority FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, the Contracting Officer may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilizations). This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities for fulling this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based solely upon the responses of this notice. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement; however, determination is solely within the discretion of the Government.
