THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE – THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT’S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO EMBASSY SUITES KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HOTEL, KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI FOR THE MARCH 22-23, 2024 FAMILY MEMBER UPDATE (FMU)

Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to the Embassy Suites Kansas City International Airport Hotel, 7640 NW Tiffany Springs Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri 64153-2304; (833) 301-1091; DUNS: 623095130; UEI: H7JPFHAKNHN4; CAGE: 3C0B6.

To meet the Government’s mission, the Defense Prisoner of War (POW)/Missing in Action (MIA) Accounting Agency (DPAA) conducts global search, recovery, and laboratory operations to identify unaccounted-for Americans from past conflicts in order to support the Department of Defense’s personnel accounting efforts. The Contractor shall furnish facilities, furniture, equipment and supplies, management, supervision, and labor to provide meeting space, audio video support, and light refreshments for a Family Member Update (FMU) for families at Kansas City, Missouri. FMUs allow DPAA and other Government officials to meet several times a year with family members of the missing to provide information about the DoD’s program to account for personnel from past conflicts. DPAA requires breakout rooms, audiovisual equipment, and hardwire internet for Facebook live, YouTube, Vimeo, and Government websites. These will be used to conduct briefings and one-on-one meetings with the families on Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel related issues. The estimated attendance is 400 persons.

The anticipated award will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 721110 – Hotels (except Casino Hotels) and Motels; Small Business Size Standard $40M. This is a commercial item. The estimated amount for this procurement is under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.

This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interest and submit a capability statement indicating they meet the same/similar curriculum identified above by 10:00 AM, EDT on November 3, 2023, to Susie.m.lee3.civ@mail.mil and Joyce.a.fields19.ctr@mail.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
