Description: This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Dept. of Transfusion Med., Center for Cellular Engineering (CCE), intends to award a fixed price base of seven (7) months purchase order sole source basis to Fisher Scientific Company, LLC located at 4500 Turnberry Drive, Hanover Park, IL 60133-5491 to supply Personal Protective Supplies. Fisher Scientific Company is an approved and is a qualified supplier by the Quality Assurance group for the Center for Cellular Engineering.

The primary objective of this project is to supply PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) material for the CCE aseptic processing labs and prevent supply issues due to back orders. This contract is to supply facilities that manufacture cell-based and gene therapies for patients enrolled on clinical trials executed at the NIH Clinical Center. Any delay in the supply of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) material may affect cell therapy production and negatively impact patient care. This is a sole source procurement Fisher Scientific is the only approved and qualified contractor to supply the personal protective equipment by the Quality Assurance group for the Center for Cellular Engineering.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.

Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
