Explanation:

There is no reasonable alternative for this procurement, the purchase of UpToDate enhances BHSCT Clinicians ability to provide the best possible care for our patients and ensure equitability for both patients, the clinical workforce and doctors in training. No other resource offers UpToDate"s depth and breadth of content, keen clinical nuance and insight, synthesised information, and organised, searchable format. More than 7,300 physicians, internationally recognised as experts in their fields, write UpToDate topics, over 12,000 topics (including text, graphics, and links to more than 495,000 references), 9,700 graded recommendations, 6,500 unique drug monographs and a drug interactions tool, calculators, 2-tiered patient information leaflets and International (including UK) Society Guideline Links (inc NICE & SIGN). UpToDate is unique in the breadth, depth and quality of clinical content to provide clinical teams with trusted evidence based content. UpToDate is a sole source provider of these services as described. The absence of competition is not a result of the artificial narrowing of the parameters of the procurement.
