Transport for Wales (TfW) exists to drive forward the Welsh Government’s vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable, and accessible transport network that the people of Wales are proud of.

A major element of this vision, TfW is investing in a transformational programme of station projects across the Wales and Borders network.

Transport for Wales (TfW) has a Social and Commercial Development Plan aimed at bringing under-utilised or disused spaces at stations back into use for social and commercial purposes. TfW are now delivering Phase 2 of the programme which includes Pontypridd station. The works proposed at this station is detailed in the design pack (Appendix 1). The rooms are to be refurbished to the standards set out in the Station Toolkit (Appendix 2). The project requires building fabric refurbishment inclusive of mechanical, civils and electrical works to bring the station buildings back into use.
