The testing of portable electrical appliances in properties throughout Newport

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

Contract refers to the testing of portable electrical appliances in properties managed by Newport Norse and connected to a 230v/110v 50hz single phase supply by means of any type of plug-in device. 3 phase items with plugs also require testing.

The primary purpose of the Specification is to identify any deterioration or damage and to ensure that the appliance offers:

Safety from shock

Safety from fire and burns

Safety from mechanical damage

Total quantity or scope of tender

The contract period is a 33 month contract starting 1st April 2023 to 31st December 2025.

The contract estimated annual value is £30,000.00 and £83,000.00 over the above defined period.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

All in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations and the Institute of Electrical Engineers Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 5th Edition 2020.

The Contractor shall ensure that the Personnel employed on the Contract are suitably trained, experienced and familiar with the type of equipment to be maintained and are capable of carrying out the work in every respect.

All personnel employed on this contract should be DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) approved before entering any site on behalf of Newport Norse.

Any contractor working on this contract should ensure they are registered with Safe contractor, Constructionline and are on Newport Norse’s Dynamic Procurement Scheme or be willing to set themselves up with the schemes mentioned.
