The servicing of all air handling units and air conditioning units throughout Newport

Description of the goods or services required

This specification refers to the annual and bi-annual maintenance to include cleaning/ servicing (as per manufacturer’s instructions) of air conditioning systems, air handling units, chillers / de-humidifiers & general ventilation systems within Newport City Council properties.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The contract period is a 33 month contract starting 1st April 2023 to 31st December 2025.

The contract estimated annual value is £15,000.00 per year and £42,000.00 over the above defined period.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The Contractor shall provide documentary evidence indicating the competence of the Personnel employed on the Works. Contractors may sub-contract elements of the work but only with the approval of the contract administrator and provided the sub-contractor meets all the criteria associated with this contract.

Personnel employed on the inspection and maintenance of Air conditioning systems shall be trained to a standard especially where the handling of refrigerants is concerned, ie: City and Guilds 2079 or the CITB refrigerant handling certificate will be suitable.

Additional Information

All personnel employed on this contract should be DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) approved before entering any site on behalf of Newport Norse.

All personnel working on this contract must have Confined Spaces Awareness Training if and when required to complete the job.

Any contractor working on this contract should ensure they are registered with Safe contractor, Constructionline and are on Newport Norse’s Dynamic Procurement Scheme or be willing to set themselves up with the schemes mentioned.
