    El objeto principal del contrato es la realización de los trabajos de coordinación en materia de seguridad y salud, según lo establecido en el art.9 del R.D. 1627/1997 de 24 de octubre durante la ejecución todo tipo de obras y actuaciones en carretera que lleve a cabo la Dirección General de Tráfico dentro de sus competencias. El ámbito del contrato es el de las actuaciones de Gestión, Regulación y Control de Tráfico e instalaciones de Mejora de la Seguridad Vial en toda la red de carreteras del Estado, así como las de titularidad autonómica o local en las que deba actuar la Dirección General de Tráfico. Los trabajos se ajustarán a lo dispuesto en la Ley 31/1995, de 8 de noviembre, de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, y en el Real Decreto 1627/1997, de 24 de Octubre, por el que se establece disposiciones mínimas de seguridad y salud en las obras de construcción, y sus modificaciones posteriores y, en su caso, en el Real Decreto 171/2004, de 30 de enero, por el que se desarrolla el artículo 24 de la Ley 31/1995, de 8 de noviembre, de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, en materia de coordinación de actividades empresariales
