         El servicio de ayuda en el hogar constituye un recurso preventivo y asistencial de primera orden al posibilitar la permanencia de las personas mayores en su entorno de convivencia habitual, prever situaciones de dependencia o exclusión social y retrasar o evitar la institucionalización.

         Este servicio presenta, por lo tanto, una naturaleza asistencial y preventiva que pretende ayudar a la persona a permanecer en su domicilio, ofreciéndole una ayuda de atención personal y/o doméstica que posibilite su desarrollo en el propio domicilio y su integración en el entorno comunitario evitando así situaciones de aislamiento o exclusión. Con esta contratación, el Ayuntamiento de Valga pretende satisfacer la cobertura de este servicio en el término municipal de Valga.
