En una organización como el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, donde trabajan más de 12.000 personas distribuidas en más de 700 centros, con una alta dispersión geográfica por el territorio municipal, y con una alta interacción con los ciudadanos, los servicios de telecomunicaciones se convierten en una herramienta clave para su buen funcionamiento, representando, una partida económica importante para el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, que es necesario optimizar de forma continuada.

Con el objetivo de controlar y mejorar tanto el nivel actual de calidad de los servicios de operador como de los sistemas de información de apoyo a la gestión, así como optimizar sus costas, el Ayuntamiento tiene previsto llevar a cabo la licitación y contratación de los servicios de asistencia técnica y soporte a la gestión de los contratos y costes de los servicios de operadoras de telecomunicaciones del Ayuntamiento, sus Institutos Municipales, y otros organismos asociados.
