        Innovasjon Norge carries out several surveys, but the most central is the Tourist Survey where Norwegian and foreign holiday and business travellers are interviewed nationwide. The interviews are carried out in person, so the tenderer must have a field apparatus. The survey has continually been held over several years, however in the current design from 2018. Allowances are made for 15,000 interviews. It is important to have a good spread of interviews around the country and throughout the year. It is also important to have a good distribution between the different nationalities that visit the country. Innovasjon Norge needs a tenderer with the start-up in January 2024.

        The Tourist Survey has two clear purposes:

        - Document the importance of tourism for the Norwegian economy. The consumption figures are used, amongst other things, in the Satellite Accounts for tourism, which are part of the national accounts for SSB.

        - Map important variables that can contribute to increasing knowledge on tourists in Norway at a regional and national level, and thereby increase Norway"s competitiveness as a tourist destination and give useful knowledge for regions, destinations, authorities, and tourist actors.
