The Neurosurgical Department at Haukeland University Hospital intends to enter into a procurement contract, as well as a framework agreement for equipment-dependent consumables, for head frames for a gamma knife with the accompanying disposable screws and accessories with Elekta Instrument AB (Elekta).

The department currently has a gamma knife from Elekta, and there are no other suppliers of head frames, etc., that are suitable for the trust"s existing gamma knife. The head frames and accompanying accessories are precision equipment that must be calibrated with the gamma knife that the hospital already has, and only Elekta can make this calibration. Neither are there non-original parts that we can use instead.

Based on this conditions a call for tenders cannot be implemented and the terms in the Public Procurement Regulations" § 13-4 first section, letter b, no. 2, are therefore fulfilled.
