Shaping Future Dunedin Transport (SFDT) is a collaborative partnership between NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi), Dunedin City Council (DCC) and Otago Regional Council (ORC) to improve how
people move into, out of and around central Dunedin.
As part of a SFDT project to support mode shift to public transport, walking, and cycling, the DCC wants to provide a key link from the Harbour Walk/Cycleway to the centre and tertiary precinct
through Albany Street.
The DCC wants to partner with a supplier to construct a cycleway on Albany Street, including making improvements to intersections and installing lane separators to provide a safe on road
cycleway. To create efficiencies and minimise future disruption, this contract also includes the resurfacing of Albany Street.
It is important that we partner with a supplier that is experienced in delivering similar construction projects in an efficient, safe and sustainable way. We want to partner with a supplier
that has the capability and capacity to deliver the works as per the designs, a supplier that can build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and will deliver positive
outcomes through this project.
There are many stakeholders to consider with this project, and the DCC want to minimise any impact and disruption for these stakeholders and road users. It is key that the DCC partner with a
supplier that can effectively demonstrate how they will manage the works to minimise disruption, whilst ensuring the safety of their staff and road users is maintained
