The University is undertaking a series of upgrades to improve the quality, fitness-for-purpose, and utilisation of the existing spaces. Some pilot fitout projects have already been undertaken
across two floors of J Block; the development of these spaces has provided the University with a good design template for learning and working spaces, and they are now looking to apply the
concepts and learnings across the remaining spaces in the same building chain.
The I & J Block upgrade will enhance the learning and working spaces, improving the campus experience for both students and staff, and equipping the University with flexible,
future-focussed learning and working spaces. To achieve this, we are looking to appoint a Main Contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality fitouts on time while working
within an operational environment. The University is looking for a Contractor who can work alongside them and the established design team to finalise the design and design documentation in a
pragmatic and efficient manner. This is unlikely to look like a traditional design or documentation process. The University also requires the Contractor to plan the staging of the works in a
way that maximises the construction programme. This includes commencing work in stages as the spaces become available and returning completed areas to the University as soon as possible.
