         De opdracht omvat diagnostiek en behandeling van Ernstige Dyslexie voor leerlingen uit het basisonderwijs of speciaal (basis)onderwijs (7 tot en met 12 jaar) uit de Westfriese gemeenten waarbij het lezen, spellen en zelf schrijven, gezien de leeftijd en het onderwijsniveau, te moeizaam gaat zonder dat er sprake is van algehele leerproblemen, neurologische problematiek of ernstige zintuiglijke beperkingen. Het Protocol Dyslexie Diagnostiek en behandeling 3.0 en volgende blijft hierbij het leidende instrument.

         Er is alleen sprake van Ernstige Dyslexie als er volgens het Nederlands Kwaliteitsinstituut Dyslexie (NKD) gehanteerde PDDB een diagnose is gesteld en er geen andere oorzaken zijn gevonden die de leesproblemen kunnen verklaren.

         De behandeling dient te worden afgerond binnen twintig maanden.

         De ondersteuning moet leiden tot het volgende resultaat:

         - Na inzet van gespecialiseerde ondersteuning en behandeling bij dyslexie is het kind in de basisschoolleeftijd in een periode van max. 20 maanden in staat om op een aanvaardbaar niveau technisch te lezen, spellen en schrijven.
