         P-1004645 vervangen Vliegtuigafreminstallatie

         Bij het gebruik van een start- en landingsbaan door gevechtsvliegtuigen is aan het

         einde van de baan een vliegtuigafreminstallatie (VAI) geïnstalleerd. In geval van een calamiteit bij een start of landing brengt een VAI door middel van de kabel het

         vliegtuig, mits uitgerust met vanghaak, veilig tot stilstand. Omdat de start- en

         landingsbaan van beide zijden door gevechtsvliegtuigen gebruikt kan worden, heeft

         iedere baan dus twee VAI’s. De huidige VAI’s dienen te worden vervangen van de hoofdbaan vliegbasis Volkel.

         28831-11 reconstructie overruns

         Gelijktijdig met het vervangen van de VAI zal ook de reconstructie plaatsvinden aan de overruns 06L en 24R.
