      De Overeenkomst heeft een vaste looptijd van 3 jaar met 5x keer een optie tot verlenging van 1 jaar. De maximale looptijd komt hiermee op 8 jaar. Door voor een langlopende overeenkomst te kiezen, die na elk jaar wordt geëvalueerd, kunnen opdrachtnemers kennis ontwikkelen van de ProRail van organisatie waardoor de kwaliteit van dienstverlening hoger zal worden. Per deelovereenkomst wordt vastgesteld door ProRail via een minicompetitie welke partij het meest geschikt is om de ProRail doelstellingen te realiseren.
