Explanation:

Opdrachtgever is verantwoordelijk voor het realiseren van een quantum key distribution netwerk, in het kader van het zogeheten “QCINed” onderzoeks- en ontwikkelproject . Dit quantum netwerk dient 3 of meer locaties rechtstreeks op een “quantum-secure” manier met elkaar te verbinden door middel van on-onderbroken quantum communicatie kanalen.

De enige technologie die hiervoor in aanmerking komt is “MDI-QKD”. Quantum Delta NL heeft een MDI-QKD systeem nodig dat gedurende de uitvoering van het QCINed project verder ontwikkeld en aangepast zal worden aan de behoeften en toepassing van de partners in het project.

Het voorgaande betekent dat de leverancier naast apparatuur ook ondersteuning moet leveren om de apparatuur in bedrijf te stellen, te onderhouden en op maat verder te ontwikkelen voor de beoogde toepassingen. Voor het effectief ontwikkelen op maat is het noodzakelijk dat opdrachtgever en partners fysiek toegang hebben tot een MDI-QKD systeem van leverancier in een operationele (test)omgeving, dat kan dienen als referentie en verificatieplatform. Dit systeem moet zich binnen een redelijke rij afstand bevinden van opdrachtgever (niet meer dan 3 uur rijden)

Dit zal onder meer inhouden het ontwikkelen van hard- en software en het organiseren van overleg met partners in het project.

Q*Bird B.V. is momenteel de enige leverancier die in staat is MDI-QKD systemen te leveren en verder te ontwikkelen
