Public procurement for the selection of an economic operator to provide services of trading platforms and clearing platform for electricity markets in the day-ahead and intraday segments

Description: MEMO DOOEL Skopje, in its capacity as the Operator of the organized electricity market and NEMO for the bidding zone covering the Macedonian electricity market, establishes and manages the segments of the organized market in the day-ahead and intraday timeframes. Additionally, for these segments of the organized electricity market, it performs clearing and financial settlement as a central counterparty. MEMO is obliged to manage the organized electricity market in all segments in a manner that does not create obstacles for future market coupling with neighbouring bidding zones, in accordance with the rules and methodologies of SDAC (Single Day-Ahead Coupling) and SIDC (Single Intraday Coupling). The first day-ahead market auction was held on May 10, 2023, and since then, trading on the day-ahead market has been carried out daily, providing a relevant reference price for each hour of the day. Driven by the need and legal obligation to establish the intraday market, MEMO, through this public procurement, aims to provide an efficient and economically sustainable solution for the establishment of the intraday market, as well as to ensure continuous, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the day-ahead segment with appropriate clearing and financial settlement by MEMO as the central counterparty of the organized electricity market in both segments
