Gli aspetti esclusivi della RM ad alto campo che si ritengono necessari per i trattamenti e le attività di ricerca che si vogliono implementare presso lo IOV:

- Disponibilità di imaging indipendente di livello diagnostico su cui individuare e contornare i volumi di interesse (target e non-target) per l’elaborazione del planning radioterapico con la più elevata risoluzione spaziale e il miglio rapporto segnale/disturbo.

- Disponibilità dell’ampia gamma di imaging funzionale (non solo DWI) che la RM 1.5T mette a disposizione per monitorare la risposta durante il trattamento.

- Disponibilità di spettroscopia per caratterizzare e monitorare i tessuti inclusi nel volume di trattamento.
