Exploring a Career Pathway for Support Workers in Home Care
The Irish Home Care sector faces significant challenges with regards to recruiting and retaining Home Care Support Workers. One of the contributors to this is that there currently is no defined framework for a career pathway within the sector for Home Care Support Workers and/or a defined system/model that integrates and recognises continuous professional development (CPD) . We are looking to partner with a research organization to carry out an international literature review, undertake a scoping review of domestic and international home care support systems that incorporate any career progression systems or that integrate CPD for Home Care support workers, produce a green paper for discussion and a white paper for publication and dissemination.
