Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) beauftragt bei der Förderung von Vorhaben ausgewählte Auftragnehmer mit der Wahrnehmung von Projektträgeraufgaben (sog. Projektträger - PT), um mit ihrer Unterstützung die

Anforderungen eines qualitätsgesicherten und effizienten Einsatzes der Fördermittel durch sorgfältige fachliche und administrative Planung, Durchführung und Kontrolle zu erfüllen. Der PT "Neue Methoden und Technologien in den Lebenswissenschaften" unterstützt das BMBF fachlich und administrativ in allen Phasen der Projektförderung von der Beratung der Interessenten und Antragsteller über die Prüfung der Anträge einschließlich der Begutachtung durch Gutachtergremien, Betreuung während der Laufzeit bis hin zur Verwendungsnachweisprüfung, bei Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung von Förderschwerpunkten und der Verbreitung der Ergebnisse durch Fachkommunikation. Künftig soll zudem der Transfer der Forschungsergebnisse in die Praxis ein wachsendes Augenmerk erfahren, sowohl durch Unterstützungsangebote während der Projektlaufzeit als auch durch Nachhalten der Ergebnisverwertung nach Projektende.
