          Thermoplastic moulding compounds are usually prepared in pellet form for subsequent processing steps such as injection moulding. For this purpose, strand pelletising is used as the most universal method possible: The melt is passed through a water bath to cool the material from the molten to the solidified state. The solidified polymer strand is then cut into pellets using a pelletiser.
