West Coast Synchronous Compensator Stations 2 and 3

Description: Fingrid Oyj, the Finnish national transmission system operator, is initiating a procurement process for two synchronous condenser stations as a turnkey basis in West Coast Finland. With this prequalification (short PQ) Fingrid is looking for capable and interested turnkey suppliers of these two synchronous condenser stations. The locations of new synchronous compensator stations are Hirvisuo substation and Arkkukallio substation. The preliminary scope of supply and the main rating can be found in the appendices of the PQ. Synchronous condenser stations will be connected to a new 110 kV feeder bays. According to the preliminary time schedule, first synchronous condenser should be ready for commissioning end of 2030 and second unit for end 2031. The other unit time schedule will be agreed based on made procurement negotiations. The turn key delivery shall include, however not limited to, all designs, engineering, fabrication, delivery, civil works, erection, installation, testing, commissioning, field verification and documentation etc. needed for fully functioning systems. Preliminary procurement schedule is as following: - 12/2025...02/2026 - Prequalification for capable and interested turnkey suppliers - 03/2026 - Supplier selection - 03...04/2026 Call for preliminary technical tenders - 04...06/2026 - Negotiations rounds - 07/2026 - Final call for tenders - 08...09/2026 - Tender evaluation and contract signing Fingrid will send the tender documents, including more detailed information on the scope and contents of the contract, schedule, specifications, requirements, award criteria etc., only to the qualified tenderers, tentatively at the beginning of March 2026. The exact date will be informed later. Technical details and exact scope of supply will be optimized based on negotiations.
