Horn of Africa - Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response project - Duration: Inception Phase: 01.08.2023 - 31.01.2024 (6 months) and Main Phase 1: 01.02.2024 - 31.07.2027 (42 months)
The well-being of millions of women, girls, men, and boys across the Horn of Africa (HoA) is negatively impacted by various forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), especially in areas of Somalia, Somali Region of Ethiopia, and North-Eastern Kenya. To protect women and girls at risk of GBV, a long-term and community-based approach is required. Switzerland is launching a regional project to address GBV by strengthening local awareness and capacities for protecting and supporting at-risk groups and survivors, in its geographic focus area of HoA. This tender seeks to identify a implementing partner who will act as (1) fund manager and overall project lead, (2) identify and build the capacities of local organizations (local women-led associations and customary institutions), and (3) ensure sustainability through a gradual hand-over to capacitated local organizations.
The Project will be implemented in Somalia, the Somali Region of Ethiopia and North-Eastern Kenya.
