The project will deliver full-time training under the Integrated Training (IT) stream further described in IT Guidelines . The Integrated Training program offers eligible Albertans competency-based training by offering occupation-related skills, work experience, and essential skills to support connection between training and the application of new skills in real-work situations. This program requires close relationships between training providers, employers and industry. Through these programs Albertans will build an understanding of the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed in Alberta’s workforce and as a result, meet local labour market demands. The length of the training will be tailored in conjunction with the identified sector requirements and skill gaps identified and will not exceed 26 weeks. Additionally, training must not lead to further training as the program is intended to address skill gaps and lead to full-time sustainable employment with some exceptions made for part-time employment outcomes of 20-29 hours/week. Training delivery will be innovative and demonstrate timely methods in training unemployed Albertans. Programs that result in the indenturing of designated trade occupations, or training that is offered and funded through the public and private post secondary system and is considered duplicative will not be considered. For programs that require passing of certification requirements, the program timeframe to pass the exam or a re-take must be completed within the service plan.
