Description

This Notice of Proposed Procurement (NPP) is to notify the supplier community that the Province intends to undertake procurement activities under the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works’ 2026 Rural Impact Mitigation (RIM) Program for work related to the maintenance of its non-100 Series roads network.

The RIM Program was developed to specifically target the maintenance of the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works’ non-100 Series road network. Every year, a significant portion of RIM highway maintenance work is contracted to the private sector through the public tendering process. It is anticipated that 2026 RIM tender opportunities will start being released within the next few weeks

To better support multi-year highway maintenance forecasting and provide opportunity for capacity planning and allocation of resources by the Province and its RIM Contractors, the Department is continuing with multiple-year Contract periods for select tendered RIM activities. Those activities may include:

• RIM Asphalt Patching
• RIM Shoulder Gravelling
• RIM Gravel Patching
• RIM Brush Clearing
• RIM Shoreline Protection
