Notice is hereby given that Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia, through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Infinium Global Diversity Array Products for a term of four (4) years at an estimated value of $2.9M CAD

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

(a) to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems, exclusive, copyright and patent rights and to maintain specialized products that must be maintained by the manufacturer or its representative

The Children and Women’s Division of Genome Diagnostics provide Chromosome Microarray Analysis (CMA) for the Province of BC. The established clinical test is validated with Global Diversity Array (GDA) Cyto Beadchip which is the only reagent that is compatible with the existing equipment and analysis tools. It is critical that the clinical service remains uninterrupted as no other lab in the Province of BC offers CMA for prenatal, perinatal and pediatric oncology testing. Switching to another product would require an extensive validation process which also requires added labour and reagent costs. The Infinium Global Diversity Array Products are essential for clinical continuity to avoid negative impact on patient care and only Illumina can provide this type of product.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Tulip Nunez, Category Buyer by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, March 13, 2026. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
